Eagle Point gas odor update

The following message is from Eagle Point Elementary School Principal Jared Fox:

I’m writing to let you know about our response to a gas odor we have experienced occasionally on our campus and in our building.

Shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday, members of our staff smelled the odor outside the building. As a precaution, we contacted the 91جزة« Fire Department to investigate. They responded about 7:40 a.m., and, after investigating the odor both inside and outside the building, determined that we were safe to move forward with our regular school day.

Although initial findings Tuesday morning suggested that the odor may have been related to work in our neighborhood that the city has been conducting in recent days, fire officials working in partnership with National Grid determined that the odor was propane rather than natural gas. They reported later Tuesday morning after additional investigation that the source was somewhere outside of our building, though they were not able to identify a specific location.

We did smell the odor intermittently on our campus and inside our building at times throughout the day. However, fire officials maintain that there is no health or safety threat to our building as a result of this odor.
